Hand-stamped jewelry is crafted through a meticulous process that combines artistry and precision. It begins with selecting a blank metal piece, often made of aluminum, brass, copper, or sterling silver. The design or text is carefully planned, and each character and image is individually hammered into the metal using steel stamps and a specialized hammer.
Once the stamping is complete, the piece is polished to smooth out any rough edges and enhance its shine. Darkening agents or patinas are applied to make the impressions stand out, adding contrast and character. Finally, the jewelry is hammered, shaped, assembled, and finished, resulting in a one-of-a-kind keepsake with personal touches and meaning.
Our precious metal clay pendants are crafted using a unique material composed of microscopic metal particles suspended in a clay-like binder. We begin by shaping the PMC into the desired design, often using molds, stamps, or freehand techniques to create intricate patterns and textures. Once shaped, the piece is left to dry completely, ensuring it retains its form. After drying, the pendant is carefully sanded and refined before being fired in a kiln. During the firing process, the binder burns away, leaving solid sterling silver behind. The pendant is then polished and oxidized to enhance its beauty and highlight details, resulting in a stunning and durable piece of wearable art.
